About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of SiangMuan (ສຽງມ່ວນ), including the website siangmuan.com, the web app and the API (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

Our Service

SiangMuan turns Lao text into speech using artificial intelligence (AI), and lets you clone a voice, set pronunciations and connect your own apps through an API.

Speech is generated automatically by AI and may occasionally mispronounce words, names or numbers. Listen to and check the audio before you publish it or use it where accuracy matters, such as medical, legal, financial or safety information.

Your account

• Give accurate information when you register (name and email address) and keep it up to date.
• You can register with an email and password or with your Google account. Accounts registered by email must verify the address before generating speech or creating API keys.
• Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for all activity under your account and keys. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using them.
• You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
• One account per person. Do not create several accounts to get extra free quota.

Plans, quotas and payment

• The Free plan includes 500 characters a month (up to 1,000 per request). The quota resets on the 1st of each month, and unused free characters do not carry over.
• Characters are counted on the text you send, including spaces and punctuation.
• Top-up characters are bought with LaoQR at the prices shown on the website, in Lao kip (LAK). They never expire and are used after your monthly plan quota.
• Our team confirms each payment once the money reaches our account, and the characters are then added to your account. This is usually quick but may take longer outside business hours.
• Purchased characters are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or moved to another account, except where the law requires otherwise. If you paid but did not receive your characters, or paid twice, contact us with your payment slip and we will fix it.
• We may change prices, quotas and packages. Changes do not affect characters you have already bought.
• Business packages may have their own terms agreed in writing; where they differ from these Terms, the agreed terms apply.

Voice cloning

• Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has clearly given you permission to use it.
• Do not use a cloned voice to impersonate anyone, mislead listeners about who is speaking, commit fraud, or create content the speaker has not agreed to.
• Each account can have one cloned voice (unless your package says otherwise), and recording again replaces it. Your recording and cloned voice are available only to your account, and you can delete them at any time.
• If we receive a credible complaint that a voice was cloned without permission, we may remove the voice and suspend the account.

Prohibited use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• break the laws of the Lao PDR or of the country where you are;
• commit fraud, scams or phishing, or impersonate a person, company or government body;
• create content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative or that incites violence;
• deliberately spread false information, including fake news or fake official announcements;
• infringe the copyright or other rights of others in the text you convert;
• attack or disrupt the Service, get around usage limits, or reverse engineer the Service;
• resell or share access to your account or API keys without our written agreement.

Your content and generated audio

• You keep all rights in the text you submit. You allow us to process it only as needed to provide the Service.
• Subject to these Terms and payment of any fees, you may use the audio you generate for personal and commercial purposes, for example in videos, ads, phone menus and apps.
• You are responsible for the text you convert and for how you use the audio.

Using the API

• API keys are for your own applications. Every request made with your key counts against your account's quota.
• Stay within the request limits of your package. We may limit or block traffic that harms the Service.
• You can revoke a key at any time in your account; we may revoke a key that is leaked or misused.

Privacy and your data

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

• Account details: name, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and your Google profile picture if you sign in with Google;
• Usage records: the number of characters and seconds of audio per request — not the text itself;
• Voice recordings you record or upload for cloning;
• Orders: package, amount and status. We never see or store your banking login;
• Security data: sign-in time, IP address and browser type.

Text you submit is used only to make the audio and is not saved in your account. Audio made in the Studio is kept on the server for about 15 minutes so you can download it, then deleted.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers needed to run the Service (such as email delivery, Google sign-in and the bank that processes LaoQR), or when the law requires it.

To delete your account, contact us. We will delete your account details, API keys, usage records and cloned voices; payment records are kept for accounting.

Availability

• We work to keep the Service running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades or reasons outside our control.
• We may add, change or remove features.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, SiangMuan is not liable for any damage or loss of any kind arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, whether direct or indirect, including lost profits, revenue, data or reputation.

You are solely responsible for your use of the Service and of the audio you generate, including the consequences of publishing or using that audio.

Suspension and closing accounts

• You can stop using the Service at any time.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, with advance notice where reasonable. When an account is suspended, its API keys stop working too.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes we will tell you by email or in the app. Using the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. We will first try to resolve any dispute by talking with you; if that fails, it will be settled by the competent courts of the Lao PDR.

These Terms are available in Lao and English. If the two versions differ, the Lao version prevails.
